CLG Expands with Addition of Of Counsel, Associate Attorney and Administrative Assistant

Christopoulos Law Group is pleased to welcome Matthew D. Botting as Of Counsel, Sarah M. Devaney as an Associate Attorney and Ryan N. Shepherd as an Administrative Assistant to the firm. All three additions further expand our ability to provide strategic insight to the beverage alcohol and hospitality law industry.

Matthew brings more than 30 years of California state government legal experience, including 17 years as General Counsel for the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC). He advises beverage alcohol industry importers, manufacturers, distributors and retailers on compliance and regulatory matters. During his tenure at ABC, he handled key precedential decisions, legislation, appeals and regulatory matters. He also has private practice and government experience, including serving as Deputy Attorney General with the California Department of Justice, and is a frequent speaker on alcohol law and compliance.

Sarah advises entertainment and sports venues, hotels, restaurants and bars on local and state licensing and regulatory compliance, license applications, business acquisitions and sales, sponsorships and corporate guidance. She handles client litigation matters, managing discovery disputes, drafting motions and negotiating settlements. Sarah also has experience preparing for and participating in mediations and arbitrations from her previous role serving on a global media and entertainment company’s litigation team.

Ryan is a legal professional with experience in administration, policy, and research. Prior to joining the firm, she gained experience with federal organizations and legal associations including the Cook County Bar Association, United States of Care and Rainbow PUSH Coalition.
